Muscat: On August 24, 2025, Ukraine will commemorate the 34th Anniversary of its Independence, a significant milestone that signifies the commencement of a new chapter in the evolution of a contemporary European nation, one that is open to the world and dedicated to constructive international cooperation.
On this momentous occasion, the Embassy of Ukraine in the Sultanate of Oman extends its heartfelt congratulations to the citizens of Ukraine, our international partners, and the amicable populace of Oman.
The Embassy expresses its profound gratitude for the unwavering support of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, as well as for the shared values that unite our two nations in dialogue, stability, and collaborative development.
Diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the Sultanate of Oman were established in 1992 and have since experienced consistent growth across various sectors. Since 2009, the Honorary Consulate of Ukraine in Muscat, under the leadership of H.E. Hani Jumaan Ashour Al Rajab, has played a pivotal role in promoting trade, cultural exchange, and interpersonal connections.
The official inauguration of the Embassy of Ukraine in Muscat, which took place during the visit of H.E. Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, in October 2024, marked a significant advancement in bilateral relations. In July 2025, the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Sultanate of Oman was appointed and will soon commence her duties.
In this regard, Ukraine is actively engaged in modernizing its economy and broadening the scope of strategic cooperation with dynamic regions worldwide. In this context, the Sultanate of Oman distinguishes itself as a vital economic partner for Ukraine in the Gulf region, as articulated by Timur Ridvanov, Charge d’Affairs of Ukraine in the Sultanate of Oman.
Priority areas for cooperation encompass investments in agriculture, renewable energy, technological innovation, digital transformation, healthcare, logistics, and pharmaceuticals. Ukraine also anticipates enhanced collaboration with Omani enterprises in maritime transport, food security, and medical technologies. The deepening of economic diplomacy between Ukraine and Oman represents a significant and meaningful advancement in the year commemorating the 34th Anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
The Embassy is optimistic that reinforced economic cooperation will lay a solid foundation for a sustainable and mutually advantageous partnership between the two nations.
