Eid Shopping: Stores Urged To Refrain From Violating Omani Fashion

Muscat: In preparation for Eid Al-Fitr, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIp) has issued a stern warning to all commercial establishments regarding offensive violations of Omani fashion.

In a statement, the Ministry emphasized the importance of preserving our national identity and urged all shops to refrain from engaging in any offensive practices that go against Omani fashion norms.

Furthermore, the Ministry explicitly stated that it is strictly prohibited to embroider the royal emblem or the official emblem of the state on the sleeve without obtaining prior permission. Additionally, any symbols or phrases that are deemed inappropriate or offensive to the public are strictly forbidden.

The Ministry specifically highlighted that the manufacturing of Omani Caps (kima) should not include the embroidery of the royal emblem, the official emblem of the state, or any symbols and expressions that are considered offensive. This includes symbols that violate Islamic law, sports club logos, trademarks, pictures of individuals, and images of animals.
