Muscat: The Brmajan Digital Transformation Hackathon, conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, has set a worldwide record by being named the longest government-led digital transformation hackathon and the largest multisite hackathon lesson in the world by the Guinness World Records.
The National Museum and the main hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher were among the event's primary locations, with over 250 young participants in attendance, including Sayyid Said Sultan Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth for Culture.
According to Sultan Mohsen Al Subhi, the Hackathon's Project Manager, this accomplishment demonstrates the Ministry's efforts to advance digital transformation across its services and will be used as a marketing tool to promote government digital projects. He noted that worldwide recognition would help disseminate good news about the value of digital transformation for governments.
The Ministry hopes to use Brmajan to highlight Omani youngsters' ability in creating creative digital solutions, encourage them to use their creativity in the area of digital transformation, and engage the community in developing solutions that improve the performance of government institutions.
The hackathon, which begins on July 21, includes a number of technical challenges and training courses aimed at assisting individuals in creating real-world solutions for a variety of industries. It assembles top developers, coders, user experience designers, and business analysts from all throughout Oman.
