Jaroslav Šilhavý, the former coach of the Czech Republic national team, has been appointed as the new coach of the Oman national football team.
The 62-year-old takes over from Branko Ivankovic, the Croatian coach who was dismissed by the Oman Football Association (OFA) following the team's disappointing performance in the AFC Asian Cup in Qatar.
The OFA announced Silhavy's appointment on their official Twitter account, after OFA chairman Sheikh Salim Al Wahaibi and Silhavy finalized the deal.
Prior to this role, Silhavy had a successful tenure as the manager of the Czech national team from 2018 to 2023.
