Muscat: The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority has confirmed its readiness to offer services to locals, expatriates, and visitors throughout the Khareef Dhofar (monsoon) Season 2025.
The Authority has said that it has approved its operational plans for the season, which include rehabilitating existing centers and adding more response points along the roads to Dhofar Governorate in A'Dakhiliyah, A'Dhahira, and Al Wusta governorates. These procedures are intended to guarantee that reports received via the Operations Center and local civil defense and ambulance centers throughout the governorates get quick attention.
The Authority urged organizations, institutions, and property renters to follow safety and civil protection regulations by performing essential upkeep on their properties and following preventive actions to lower incidents.
Furthermore, the Authority will increase its monitoring activities by inspecting facilities, correcting infractions, and pursuing appropriate legal action when warranted.
The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority promotes awareness among all segments of society via its official social media channels, traditional media, awareness pamphlets, and organized events. It also organizes field teams for awareness and guidance in various locations, acknowledging the media's important role in promoting preventive culture.
During their visits to Dhofar Governorate, the Authority encourages Khareef Dhofar season attendees to follow safety regulations. This entails properly planning for the trip, such as ensuring vehicle maintenance, carrying a first aid kit, verifying that fire extinguishers are operational, identifying rest stops and fuel stations along the way, selecting appropriate travel times, taking pauses when fatigued, and strictly adhering to traffic safety standards.
Furthermore, the Authority underlined the critical need of following to safety regulations while visiting Dhofar Governorate. It cautioned against swimming in unauthorized areas such as springs, ponds, and beaches due to the risks posed by strong sea currents and high waves during the fall season. Visitors are also encouraged to avoid dangerous places such as waterfalls and high ground, as well as to monitor children and ensure they do not remain unattended in cars, so that everyone stays safe.
