Al Rustaq: The fifth awareness seminar on Elder Abuse was conducted on Thursday in the Wilayat of Al Rustaq, organised by the Ehssan Association branch in South Al Batinah Governorate and sponsored by Dr. Yahya Sulaiman Al Nadabi, Wali of A'Rustaq.
The seminar agenda featured an awareness video called "No to Elder Abuse," which showcased the many types of mistreatment that the elderly may encounter, as well as the psychological and social repercussions.
The event included multiple working papers, starting with Walid Said Al Badi's presentation of “The Role of the Omani Human Rights Commission in Promoting and Protecting the Rights of the Elderly. ” Following that, Dr. Hilal Abdullah Al Kharousi presented a paper named “The Rights of the Elderly in Islam: Divine Honor and Human Responsibility,” and Nahid Ali Al Jameel delivered a paper titled “Home Healthcare as a Strategic Option for Protecting the Elderly. ”
The program ended with a collaborative working paper titled “The Social Protection Fund and Ensuring Stability in Old Age,” which was presented by Rahma Mohammed Al Rawahi and Iman Salim AlShibibi.
The seminar also had a dialogue session addressing significant challenges and potential solutions in elderly care. At the conclusion of the event, participants were recognized, and the association's second ambulance—dedicated to serving the elderly in the governorate—was officially launched.
