Muscat— The Youth Center, in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada), has launched a set of entrepreneurial initiatives aimed at building young people's skills in a variety of industries, including agriculture, maritime affairs, logistics, technology, and crafts.
These youth programs aim at people aged 15 to 34 in all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, with each governorate running programs adapted to its unique character.
The Agricultural Entrepreneurship Program aims to provide young people with entrepreneurial skills in the agricultural sector and to expose them to possible prospects in this sector. Meanwhile, the Maritime Entrepreneurship Programme aims to improve young people's entrepreneurial skills in the maritime industry by utilizing Oman's natural resources and strategic position.
The Technology Entrepreneurship Program focuses on providing individuals with the technical skills necessary to create scalable tech projects.
Furthermore, the Logistics Entrepreneurship Program focuses on empowering young people to develop innovative sustainable entrepreneurial ideas in the logistics sector, increasing their practical abilities in subjects like as storage and e-commerce.
The Craft Entrepreneurship Program was established to use craftsmanship and artistic abilities in creating unique commercial projects that preserve cultural identity, demonstrating a dedication to providing specialized programs.
In addition, a program for youngsters has been created in collaboration with the Ministry of Education to encourage the idea of independent work among the 1517 age group.
As part of the diversification of programmes available, the Youth Camp (Design and Packaging) program was created to teach participants important skills in contemporary product design and packaging in accordance with market needs.
It is worth mentioning that the number of beneficiaries from the Youth Center's initiatives totaled 56,953 young men and women by the end of last June.
