The Oman Table Tennis Association (OTTA) in collaboration with the World Table Tennis Federation (WTT) successfully concluded the four-day event of the WTT Feeder Muscat 2024, which was held in Muscat from Thursday to Sunday. The event attracted nearly 100 participants from various countries worldwide. The participants hailed from China, Japan, Chinese Taipei, India, Pakistan, France, Germany, Syria, Iran, Egypt, Italy, Yemen, and Oman, competing in a diverse range of categories, including Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.
The event saw a series of intense matches, culminating in the triumph of several teams. The Women's Singles title was secured by Chinese player Yang Yiyun, who defeated Sakura Yokoi from Japan with a score of 3-0 (5-11, 7-11, 11-13). In the Men's Doubles category, the French duo Bastien Rembert and Joe Seyfried emerged victorious, defeating their Chinese counterparts, Yuan Licen and XIANG Peng, by a score of 3-1 (8-11, 8-11, 11-6, 9-11). The Chinese dominance continued into the Women's Doubles event, with the duo Fan Shuhan and XUE Fei winning the title after blanking their teammates, Yang Yiyun Zhu, and ZONG Geman, with a score of 3-1 (11-4, 8-11, 11-5, 11-9).
Following the conclusion of all the final matches, Abdullah Mohammed Bamakhalif, the Chairman of OTTA, along with other board members, presented awards to the winners. The Chief of OTTA presented the awards to the top finishers in the Men's Singles category, while Sajad Mohammed Baqir, the Vice Chairman, and Masoud al Shaqsi, a board member, awarded the top performers in the Women's Singles category. Adil al Balushi, the Secretary-General, and Mohammed al Jassasi, another board member, presented the awards for the Men's Doubles category. Maryam al Alawi, a board member, honored the winners of the Women's Doubles category, while Mohammed l Oufi, the association's treasurer, presented the medals to the winners of the Mixed Doubles category.

In a heartfelt expression of gratitude, Abdullah Bamakhalif, the Chairman of OTTA, extended his appreciation to all members of the board, organizers, and volunteers for their exceptional contributions towards the success of the WTT Feeder Muscat 2024. "This event represents a significant part of our annual pledge to host two international championships, with the second competitive international event set to take place from late October to early November. It will showcase the finest global players." He further elaborated.
Bamakhalif also shed light on the multitude of positive outcomes of this year's championship. These included the live television coverage on international channels, which attracted a greater number of international players to Oman, the promotion of table tennis within the nation, and the creation of a competitive atmosphere that has allowed Omani players to enhance their skills. "The WTT Feeder provided a platform for our local talents to compete against international stars, thereby gaining invaluable experience. We extend our sincere thanks to all our partners and supporters, with special mention to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, as well as private sector sponsors and media representatives," he concluded.
