"We Tried Our Best With Bat": Skipper Rizwan On Pakistan's Defeat To Australia In 1st T20I

Brisbane: Following their defeat by Australia in the first T20I match, Pakistan's captain, Mohammad Rizwan, expressed his team's efforts with the bat.

The Pakistani batsmen faced a formidable challenge from the Australian bowling attack, with the top and middle order struggling to score runs.

During the post-match presentation, Rizwan noted that the first T20I match was progressing at a rapid pace. He also commended Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell for his exceptional performance in the first inning.

"In matches of this nature, it's difficult to make any significant statements. The pace of the game was quite high, and we did our best with the bat. Maxwell's performance was outstanding not just in this match but also in recent years," Rizwan stated.

Regarding the match, the first T20I at Brisbane was prematurely ended due to rain. Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat first. Australia managed to score 93/4 in seven overs, with Maxwell (43 runs from 19 balls, including five boundaries and three sixes) and Marcus Stoinis (21 runs from seven balls, with two fours and a six) standing out with their batting.
