Tender Announced For The Development Of Hawiyat Najm Park

Muscat: In line with the Muscat Governorate's commitment to delivering high-quality initiatives under the Provincial Development Program, Muscat Municipality has issued a tender for the construction of Hawiyat Najm Park in Quriyat. Spanning an area of 489,758 square meters, the project encompasses site preparation, the expansion of green spaces, and the establishment of diverse camping areas. It will also feature walking paths, public amenities for visitors, and the preservation of the site's geological characteristics to ensure environmental sustainability and serve as a benchmark for future projects.

His Excellency Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Hamidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, remarked on the initiative: "The development of Hawiyat Najm Park is part of Muscat Governorate's strategy to implement innovative projects that enrich the region by creating a natural retreat for residents and tourists, especially those who enjoy camping and outdoor activities. This development aims to accommodate a larger number of visitors and provide a holistic experience that surpasses expectations. The project will include well-organized camping areas across various zones to address the growing demand from citizens and tourists alike. Furthermore, it will adhere to the highest standards of environmental and social sustainability."

The project will consist of three interconnected zones. The first zone will encircle the main sinkhole and will feature a panoramic bridge that offers stunning views, along with an elevator designed for individuals with disabilities and the elderly. Additional facilities will include a zipline, walking and cycling paths, children's recreational activities, retail outlets, a theater with an exhibition space, food trucks, and an administrative office.

The initiative is projected to generate more than 300 employment opportunities for local residents and draw over 5,000 visitors each day during peak times. The newly established camping areas are expected to host upwards of 400 visitors daily.

Muscat Municipality emphasizes sustainability across all its initiatives. Consequently, the development of Hawiyat Najm Park will feature a comprehensive waste management system and solar panels installed in parking lot canopies to produce renewable energy for the project's needs.
