Muscat: On Sunday, the Supervisory Committee for the 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030) convened for its inaugural meeting in Muscat.
The proceedings were presided over by Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, the Minister of Economy and the Chairman of the Committee.
The assembly served as a critical step in the preparations for the Oman Vision 2040’s second executive plan. It scrutinized the governance strategies of the plan, the operational mechanisms of the technical teams, and the proposed timeline.
A total of fourteen technical teams were established, comprising 220 members, each endowed with national expertise and professional competencies. These teams are representative of various sectors including government, security, military, academia, private sector, and civil society.
The agenda of the meeting focused on delineating the tasks and responsibilities delegated to the committee, as well as devising strategies to ensure alignment between the medium-term and long-term vision.
The assembly underscored the importance of coordination among the relevant stakeholders within the ministries and Oman's governorates.
The responsibilities vested in the committee encompass the formulation of the overarching framework for the 11th Five-Year Development Plan, as well as the proposal of the economic and financial framework, investment program, policies, and strategies aimed at realizing the objectives of the plan.
