Seminar Discusses Challenges, Innovative Solutions For Local Products In North Al Batinah

Sohar hosted a seminar on Tuesday titled "The Local Product as an Added Value: Challenges and Innovative Solutions. "

The Omani Consumer Protection Association arranged it in collaboration with the Directorate General of Consumer Protection in North Al Batinah Governorate. Several government and private sector organizations in the governorate took part in the event.

The seminar is part of the cooperation and coordination efforts between the Consumer Protection Authority and the Omani Consumer Protection Association in a variety of areas, including awareness-raising. It emphasized the local product as an added value through several working papers delivered throughout the event.

The symposium intended to create thorough awareness of the significance of local products in supporting the national economy and attaining sustainable development in the Sultanate of Oman, as they are an essential foundation of long-term economic performance.

It tackled the issues confronting local products, such as competition from imported items and high production costs, while also presenting successful methods to boost competitiveness in local and worldwide markets. Additionally, it addressed the function of media, marketing, and promotion of Omani products through effective awareness campaigns to raise consumer awareness.
