Muscat - A decision has been made by HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, who serves as the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, to establish the project team for the "Omani Cultural Laboratories" (OCL).
This initiative represents a joint effort by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, the Cultural Club, and the Bait Al Zubair Foundation. Its main objective is to foster partnerships, initiatives, and collaboration across various sectors to enhance cultural activities on both local and international levels.
The OCL project aligns with the goals set forth in Oman’s cultural strategy, particularly in fostering innovation, research, and studies designed to advance creativity and development, as well as the connection to cultural communication principles.
This vision is to be realized through the sharing of expertise both within Oman and internationally, engaging in cultural dialogue with nations globally, and establishing partnerships with significant local and international organizations.
The aim of the OCL is to fortify cultural and civilizational ties while showcasing the efforts and collective wisdom of the Omani people. This will be achieved via the execution of research projects, cultural programs, exhibitions, conferences, and diverse events that investigate shared knowledge systems through collaboration with cultural and academic entities abroad.
By overseeing the OCL project, the Ministry reaffirms its dedication to advancing collaborative cultural initiatives, harmonizing institutional efforts, and enhancing the representation of Omani identity. This also seeks to strengthen Oman’s standing within regional and global cultural landscapes, operating under the framework of cultural diplomacy as an essential means of engaging with the world.
