Sayyid Badr Expressed Full Alignment With His Egyptian Counterpart Regarding Omani-Egyptian Ties

Cairo— Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister, and Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, conducted a joint press conference this evening to commemorate the conclusion of the 16th session of the Omani-Egyptian Joint Committee in Cairo.

During the conference, Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi was in complete agreement with his Egyptian counterpart on Omani-Egyptian cooperation concerns and both countries' positions on regional issues. He acknowledged both sides' dedication to boosting trade exchange, enhancing the Business Council's role, and increasing reciprocal investments, while also appreciating the Egyptian community's contributions to Oman development journey.

On regional issues, he highlighted Oman's backing for Egypt's efforts to stop the aggression in Gaza, reject forced relocation attempts, and adhere to the two-state solution that will culminate in an independent Palestinian state.

He emphasized Oman's support for Egypt's stance on the Renaissance Dam issue, underlining the need of respecting Arab states' sovereignty and territorial integrity while rejecting all forms of foreign interference in their internal affairs.

He also stated that resuming talks on the Iranian nuclear dossier is critical for regional stability, emphasizing the need of confidence-building measures to prevent escalation and reach a equitable, mutual solution to the problem while concentrating efforts on regional development and cooperation.
