Keys' only victory over Sabalenka came at the German Open in Berlin four years ago, where she edged out a close three-set match to advance to the quarter-finals.
A memorable encounter took place during the 2023 US Open semi-final, where Keys started strong with a 6-0 first set, but Sabalenka rallied to win the second and third sets in tiebreaks, securing her place in the final at Flushing Meadows.
Sabalenka advanced to the finals by defeating 11th seed Paula Badosa in the semifinal on Thursday, winning 6-4, 6-2. The defending champion now aims for her third Australian Open title and has extended her winning streak at Melbourne Park to 20 matches.
