Sabalenka To Take On Keys In Title Clash At Australian Open

The Australian Open women's singles final in Melbourne will feature defending champion Aryna Sabalenka facing Madison Keys. This highly anticipated match is scheduled for Saturday at Melbourne Park.

Keys had previously struggled against Swiatek, managing only one victory in their last five encounters, all of which ended in straight sets against her. However, in a crucial moment, Keys triumphed over Swiatek in a match that lasted two hours and 35 minutes, according to the WTA website.

The upcoming final marks the sixth meeting between Sabalenka and Keys, occurring just three months after Sabalenka's win in the round of 16 at the Beijing Open.

Sabalenka, the world number one from Belarus, has dominated their matchups, winning four out of five on the WTA tour, including two Grand Slam titles in 2023 at Wimbledon and the US Open.

Keys' only victory over Sabalenka came at the German Open in Berlin four years ago, where she edged out a close three-set match to advance to the quarter-finals.

A memorable encounter took place during the 2023 US Open semi-final, where Keys started strong with a 6-0 first set, but Sabalenka rallied to win the second and third sets in tiebreaks, securing her place in the final at Flushing Meadows.

Sabalenka advanced to the finals by defeating 11th seed Paula Badosa in the semifinal on Thursday, winning 6-4, 6-2. The defending champion now aims for her third Australian Open title and has extended her winning streak at Melbourne Park to 20 matches. She remains undefeated in 2025, with an impressive 11-match winning streak.
