Muscat—His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has today issued Royal Decree No. 17/2025, which enacts the Omani Nationality Law. The decree includes the following articles:
Article (1) establishes that the provisions of the Omani Nationality Law, as attached to this decree, shall come into effect.
Article (2) mandates that the Minister of Interior shall formulate the Executive Regulation and any necessary decisions for the enforcement of the provisions outlined in the attached law. Until these are issued, the current regulations and decisions will remain in effect for matters not specifically addressed in the attached law, without compromising its provisions.
Article (3) revokes Royal Decree No. 38/2014 concerning the Omani Nationality Law and nullifies any conflicting regulations or provisions.
Article (4) specifies that this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and will take effect the day after its publication.
