Muscat: Today, HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tarik Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, represented His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik at the closing ceremony of the 2025 Camel Cup Festival.
The event took place at the Royal Camel Corps Racecourse in Al Fuleij, located in the Wilayat of Barka. The festival was organized by the Royal Court Affairs, with the Royal Camel Corps overseeing the arrangements.
The final day featured six rounds of competition. The "Makhayil" from the Royal Camel Corps claimed the His Majesty the Sultan Camel Cup for the second consecutive year, achieving victory in the fifth round over a distance of 8 kilometers.
The second position was secured by "Rahiya" of the Royal Camel Corps, while "Al Reef" from Al Bashayer Camels took third place.
Throughout the day, Omani heritage bands provided entertainment for the audience with traditional performances, alongside camel exhibitions by the Royal Camel Corps, which included Ardha runs, camel polo, and camel cart racing. The event concluded with a captivating Al Azzi art tableau.
During the closing ceremony, HH Sayyid Shihab presented trophies to the winners of the festival's various rounds.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Royal Family, ministers, and high-ranking officials.
