Al Jabal Al Akhdar: The Sultan of Oman's Parachute Regiment, representing the Royal Army of Oman (RAO), conducted a practical demonstration drill of the Joint Omani-Iranian Military Exercise, codenamed “Mountain Falcons”, under the auspices of Maj. Gen. MattarSalim Al Balushi, the Commander of the Royal Army of Oman, in the presence of Brigadier-General Kiumars Heidari, the Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Army Ground Forces.
This drill was supported by the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) and took place in the RAO combat training zone, located in the mountainous areas of the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdar. The event commenced with a briefing, followed by a practical demonstration that showcased the participating forces' exceptional performance.
The demonstration was designed to evaluate the participating units' ability to operate in perfect coordination and execute the planned strategies and training objectives.
Military exercises are an integral part of the SAF's annual training plans and programs, often conducted in collaboration with the armies of Arab nations and friendly countries.
The practical demonstration drill was attended by senior officers from the Sultan's Armed Forces, senior officers from the Iranian Ground Forces, the Military Attaché at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Muscat, and personnel from the Royal Air Force of Oman.
