Dr. Hanan bint Mahmoud Ahmed, a researcher specializing in national identity, highlighted that the defining features of Omani national identity encompass language, shared history, traditions, customs, values, religion, and Oman’s geographical context, along with inherited traits that individuals should embrace and take pride in.
She emphasized the importance of researchers in nurturing Omani identity among children, ensuring they are informed, safeguarded, and capable of recognizing values that align with societal principles.
Dr. Hanan advocated for the integration of national identity concepts within society to foster loyalty and sincerity among its members. She also pointed out the need for content creators to develop digital materials with clear objectives that support the sustainability of national identity.
Furthermore, she underscored the critical importance of safeguarding national identity against ongoing cultural invasions and the influence of external cultures. These efforts often seek to introduce moralities, ideas, and practices that conflict with Islamic values, aiming to establish a homogenized global identity.
