Pakistan Beat England By 152 Runs In The Second Test

Pakistan has concluded its losing streak with a remarkable 152-run victory over England in the second Test of a three-match series held in Multan. This triumph signifies a significant turnaround for the Pakistani team, who were tasked with setting a formidable target of 297 runs for England.

In an exceptional display of bowling prowess, Noman Ali achieved eight wickets, while Sajid Khan contributed two additional wickets, effectively limiting England to a mere 144 runs. This match also represents a significant milestone for Shan Masood, who celebrated his first victory as Pakistan's Test captain following a challenging period in his initial series against Australia and Bangladesh, during which the team suffered a whitewash.

Despite a tumultuous start to the series, including a defeat in the first Test against England, this victory has rejuvenated Pakistan's position in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) points table.

The updated ICC World Test Championship (WTC) points table places India at the top of the rankings with a total of 98 points, secured from 11 matches, boasting 8 wins and only 2 losses, resulting in a commendable winning percentage of 74.24. Australia closely follows in second place with 90 points from 12 matches, also achieving 8 victories. Sri Lanka occupies the third position, accumulating 60 points from 9 matches, with 4 wins to their credit.

England stands at fourth place with 93 points from 18 matches, securing 8 wins. South Africa is positioned in fifth place with 28 points from 6 matches, achieving 2 wins. New Zealand occupies the sixth position with 36 points from 8 matches and 3 wins. Bangladesh follows in seventh position with 33 points, while West Indies is in eighth place with 20 points from 9 matches. Finally, Pakistan finds itself at the bottom of the table, having won only 3 out of 9 matches, leading to a low winning percentage of 16.67.

The team is poised to capitalize on this success in the upcoming third and final Test match, scheduled to be held in Rawalpindi from October 24-29.
