OSHRM Unveils 8th Annual Conference: A New Roadmap For HR Leadership In Oman

Muscat: The Omani Society for Human Resource Management (OSHRM) convened a press conference on Monday to unveil the details of its 8th Annual Conference, scheduled for April 14 to 16, 2025, at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

This year's theme, "Leadership in Open Space," embodies OSHRM's innovative approach to redefining leadership and advancing human capital development in the Sultanate. The 2025 conference will tackle critical issues that resonate with emerging global trends in the HR sector. Key areas of focus will include the economics of sustainability and social responsibility, fostering psychological safety and secure workplace environments, transforming organizational culture, integrating technology and social media into HR practices, exploring the economic advantages of diversity and inclusion, and enhancing leadership development within the private sector.

Additional topics will cover HR analytics, agile learning methodologies, building resilient teams, improving employee experiences, career coaching, and creating productive work environments that bolster institutional performance and innovation.

In his address, Dr. Ghalib bin Saif Al Hosni, Chairperson of OSHRM, remarked that the conference is a crucial platform for redefining modern leadership. "Today's leadership transcends mere operational management. It acts as a catalyst for innovation, exemplifies continuous development, and serves as a means to create tangible, measurable impacts both within organizations and in society at large," he stated.

He underscored that contemporary leaders must be agents of transformation, adept at steering teams through the rapid changes in labor markets influenced by shifting customer expectations, technological advancements, and global economic fluctuations. Dr. Al Hosni stressed the necessity of embracing inclusive and flexible leadership models that align with industrial trends, environmental considerations, and national policy objectives—models that ultimately foster sustainable growth and enhance organizational resilience.

Faisal Al Siyabi, the Chief Executive Officer of OSHRM, emphasized the organization's dedication to fostering professional excellence and innovation within Oman's workplace environments. He highlighted that the 8th edition of the annual conference, themed “Driving Innovative Sustainability,” marks a significant advancement in OSHRM’s mission to transform the HR sector through engaging, knowledge-based platforms. “Our focus extends beyond enhancing HR outputs,” Al Siyabi stated, “to establishing future-ready work systems grounded in innovation, collaboration, and visionary leadership. This conference serves as a bridge connecting local talent with global expertise to create solutions that are informed by international insights yet customized for Omani contexts.”

He also announced that the conference will host a distinguished lineup of speakers from both Oman and abroad, each offering valuable experiences and extensive knowledge in human capital and organizational development. The agenda is designed to promote meaningful discussions, knowledge sharing, and the introduction of innovative strategies pertinent to the changing business environment.

This year’s conference will particularly focus on anticipating the future of leadership amid rapidly evolving work settings. Sessions will delve into the crucial role of strategic leadership in enhancing institutional performance, fostering adaptability, and promoting innovative, sustainable results in a globally interconnected landscape.

Additionally, OSHRM revealed the introduction of an international exhibition that will run concurrently with the conference. This exhibition will highlight the latest advancements and solutions in HR management, featuring participation from both local and international companies. It aims to serve as a strategic venue for developing sponsorships and partnerships, providing exhibitors with exclusive visibility and benefits, including complimentary passes for their staff based on the level of sponsorship.

Since its inception, OSHRM has organized seven successful annual conferences, each drawing over 900 attendees. These gatherings have included international partnerships, the exchange of best practices, and collaborations with more than 20 local organizations. Beyond its main conferences in Muscat, OSHRM has also conducted seven specialized forums in Salalah and Sohar, further solidifying its position as a leader in professional development and HR excellence across the nation.
