Omani Women’s Day Marks A Nation’s Achievments

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman is set to commemorate Omani Women’s Day on the 17th of October, acknowledging the pivotal role women play in the nation's advancement. This year's theme for Omani Women’s Day is "Women as Partners in Development," emphasizing the significant contributions women have made across various sectors, including politics, economy, culture, and education, as well as their pivotal role in the sustainable development of the Sultanate of Oman.

According to data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), as of June 2024, the employment figures for Omani women are as follows: 100,450 are employed in the public sector, and 119,593 in the private sector. Furthermore, the NCSI data reveals that approximately 57% of artisans in Oman are women.

This celebration highlights the significant impact of Omani women in advancing the vision of Oman Vision 2040.

Additionally, the number of female students enrolled in public schools has reached 366,532, with 62,212 in private schools. The number of female teachers in public schools has increased to 40,368, and in private schools, it stands at 6,793.
