Oman, UK Explore Means Of Boosting Cooperation In Trade, Industry, Investment Fields

Muscat: Today, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, Qais Mohammed Al Yousef, was honored to host Douglas Alexander, Minister of State for Trade Policy and Economic Security of the United Kingdom (UK), in his office.

During their meeting, the representatives from both nations delved into discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation across various sectors, including commerce, industry, and investments. They explored growth indicators related to intra-trade and strategies to improve trade exchange and investment opportunities.

Additionally, the dialogue underscored the mutual desire to persist in negotiations for a free trade agreement between the GCC countries and the UK. The conversation also covered a range of topics of mutual interest.

The meeting was punctuated by presentations that highlighted the depth of relations between Oman and the UK. These presentations emphasized the significance of bolstering investment and commerce sectors, as well as the transfer of technology.

Furthermore, a presentation was delivered to illuminate the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and to present an overview of the investment environment in Oman, including economic developments, investment laws, and the facilities provided by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion to investors across various sectors.

The meeting was graced by officials from both nations.
