Muscat: Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), welcomed Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey, and his delegation, who are now visiting the Sultanate of Oman.
The meeting focused on ways to activate joint investments between the two countries under the Oman-Türkiye Joint Fund, identifying high-return growth opportunities in promising industries that benefit both economies, strengthen bilateral ties, and localize technology and knowledge in domestic markets.
Discussions also focused on developing investment cooperation with OYAK, Turkey's sovereign wealth fund, through the Oman-Türkiye Joint Investment Fund, which was founded with equal contributions from both parties and a capital of USD 500 million.
The fund's main focus is on investments in Oman and Türkiye, as well as select global opportunities, particularly in the mining and metals, automotive manufacturing, transportation, chemicals, agriculture and food, and energy sectors.
This collaboration is consistent with OIA's growth plan of strengthening its international investment network and building high-value relationships that benefit the national economy.
