Muscat: Today, the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar formalized their collaboration by signing two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) focused on diplomatic training and social development. Additionally, three executive programs were established in the areas of culture and education, sports, and youth.
The signing ceremony occurred in Muscat during the state visit of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, to Oman.
The first MoU pertains to diplomatic training cooperation between the Foreign Ministry's Diplomatic Academy in Oman and the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Diplomatic Institute. The second MoU addresses social development collaboration between Oman's Ministry of Social Development and Qatar’s Ministry of Social Development and Family.
Furthermore, an executive program was signed to enhance cooperation in cultural and educational initiatives between Oman's Ministry of Education and Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
Additionally, two executive programs were established for collaboration in sports and youth, involving Oman's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and Qatar's Ministry of Sports and Youth.
The agreements were signed on behalf of the Sultanate of Oman by Sultan Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Finance, while Sheikh Hamad Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Sports and Education, and Dr. Mohammed Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented the State of Qatar.
