Riyadh: The Sultanate of Oman has participated in the preparatory meeting of foreign ministers for the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit, scheduled to take place tomorrow (Monday), in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This summit is poised to address the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian territories and Lebanon, as well as the current regional developments.
The delegation from the Sultanate of Oman, led by Abdullah Nasser Al Rahbi, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League, will be actively engaged in discussions.
Al Rahbi has conveyed to the Oman News Agency (ONA) that within the framework of the Sultanate of Oman's steadfast policy, which emphasizes the significance of security and stability in the Middle East, there is a renewed call for intensified international efforts to halt the cycle of violence and foster sustainable peace in the region.
He further stated that the Sultanate of Oman is dedicated to advocating for peaceful resolutions and seeking just settlements to conflicts, particularly in the Palestinian cause. This commitment is rooted in the belief that a lasting solution can only be achieved through dialogue and respect for international resolutions.
Al Rahbi elaborated that the Sultanate of Oman is eager to safeguard the rights of peoples and support initiatives for development and welfare, which are crucial for ensuring stability. He emphasized the importance of achieving the two-state solution in line with United Nations resolutions as a fundamental pillar for realizing this objective.
He highlighted the Sultanate of Oman's view that the international community's backing for humanitarian efforts, especially those provided by UN organizations to assist millions of Palestinian refugees, is essential for achieving balance, offering elements of a decent life, and restoring hope for a just and secure future.
Al Rahbi underscored the need for practical steps that reflect Islamic solidarity and have a meaningful impact on the ground, as well as clear positions that transition from condemnation to action. He affirmed that the Sultanate of Oman will continue to be committed to the necessity of dialogue and diplomatic efforts as the cornerstone for reaching solutions that ensure security and stability for all peoples of the region and prevent escalation that threatens regional and international peace.
