Oman Participates In Arab Forum For Environment

Riyadh: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Environment Authority, is currently participating in the Arab Forum for Environment with the theme "Restoring Land to Build Resilience."

Heading the delegation from Oman is Dr. Abdullah Ali Al Amri, Chairman of the Environment Authority.

This event, held in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is organized by the Secretariat General of the Arab League in collaboration with the UN Environment Programme's West Asia Office.

The forum focuses on four main themes, which include addressing land degradation and regional and global environmental challenges, improving land use for food and water security, emphasizing the importance of environmental commitment in preserving terrestrial ecosystems, and discussing international, regional, and national initiatives for rehabilitating terrestrial ecosystems.

The primary objective of the Arab Forum for Environment is to facilitate the exchange of experiences in relevant fields, identify potential cooperation partnerships, and establish regional dialogue among stakeholders to discuss the current situation and future prospects of environmental work in the Arab region.

Furthermore, it aims to provide a regular platform for dialogue among policymakers, international and regional experts in various environmental fields, and to expand opportunities for partnerships and potential cooperation among key actors.
