Oman Enhances Cooperation With Japan In Energy Transition Areas

Tokyo: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, participated in the Japan Cooperation Centre for Petroleum and Sustainable Energy (JCCP) conference in Tokyo.

The delegation was led by Mohsin Hamad Al Hadhrami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals.

Al Hadhrami emphasized the importance of developing national capabilities to align with the demands of energy transition. He also highlighted the necessity of strengthening international collaboration to effectively promote sustainable development and increase the utilization of clean energy sources.

During the conference, Al Hadhrami engaged in discussions with several officials from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. They reviewed the latest advancements in energy transition, including Japan's relevant policies, and examined the contributions of renewable energy and hydrogen to electricity generation, heavy industries, and the logistics sector.

Subsequently, the Omani delegation visited several prominent companies specializing in energy and technology.

This visit underscores the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to enhancing international partnerships in sustainable energy and leveraging cutting-edge technologies to support energy transition strategies, thereby contributing to the achievement of national objectives related to energy, economic growth, and environmental sustainability.
