Oman Condemns Assassination Of Head Of Hamas Movement's Political Bureau

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has unequivocally condemned and denounced the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the Head of Hamas Movement's Political Bureau.

The Sultanate views the assassination, which occurred in the capital of Iran, Tehran, as a gross violation of international and humanitarian law, as well as a significant setback to the efforts aimed at fostering peace and stability in the region.

In a statement released by the Foreign Ministry today, Oman reaffirmed its unwavering position against all forms of terrorism, irrespective of their motives or causes, and its opposition to any infringement upon the sovereignty of nations.

Oman has called upon the international community to act swiftly in holding accountable those responsible for these heinous acts of terrorism and political assassinations, in addition to pursuing immediate measures to halt Israeli aggression and the ongoing violation of Palestinian territories.

Furthermore, Oman has called for an end to the Israeli policy of violence, extremism, and mistreatment towards the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.

The Sultanate has extended its deepest sympathies to the family of Ismail Haniyeh and his companion, expressing its prayers to the Almighty Allah for the patience of the Palestinian people and their leadership.
