Oman, Belarus Sign 3 Memoranda On Understanding In Technology Transfer, Transport Sectors

Muscat: Oman and the Republic of Belarus signed three memoranda of understanding (MoUs) in Muscat on Wednesday to promote cooperation in technology transfer in the automotive and smart technology industries.

The first memorandum of understanding (MoU), signed by Karwa Motors and the Belarusian company Amkodor, establishes a joint framework for industrial and commercial cooperation, allowing both parties to expand into the Sultanate of Oman, the GCC, and African nations.

The second Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by Karwa Motors and the Belarusian firm MAZ, focuses on manufacturing and marketing transport vehicles, specialised vehicles, and trailers.

The MoU also entails exploring joint marketing efforts, establishing an integrated production line at Karwa Motors' automobile plant in Oman, transferring technical knowledge from the Belarusian side, offering specialized training programs, and providing technical support to improve national personnel' efficiency in this area.

The two MoUs were signed by Dr. Ibrahim Ali Al Balushi, CEO of Karwa Motors, the Amkodor company's Deputy General Manager for Marketing, and MAZ's Deputy Commercial Director.

The Oman National Engineering and Investment Company (ONEIC) and the Belarusian Delivery Software Delivio signed the third MoU, which focuses on providing the latest digital solutions and advanced software to the Omani and regional markets.

Cooperation under the third MoU konzentriert sich auf die Entwicklung neuartiger Lösungen in den Bereichen IKT (Information- und Kommunikationstechnologie), KI (Künstliche Intelligenz), Finanztechnologie und fortschrittliche technische Dienstleistungen zur Unterstützung des digitalen Übergangs, der Automatisierung und der Modernisierung von Unternehmensabläufen.

The MoU was signed by Eng. Aziz Alhasani, ONEIC's General Manager of Information Technology and EBusiness, and Andrei Sudakov, CEO of Delivery Software.

The signing event was attended by Abdulsalam Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), and Dr. Abdullah Masoud Al Harthy, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus to the Sultanate of Oman, along with other officials from both nations.

The memoranda of understanding are being signed as part of the Omani-Belarusian Joint Committee's efforts to strengthen strategic collaborations between major businesses in the two countries, promote technology transfer and national competency development, and emphasize the Sultanate of Oman’s position as a regional center for attracting excellent investment projects.
