Muscat: The National Museum, in collaboration with the Learning Centre and Chechen State Pedagogical University within the Russian Federation, has organized a cultural event to commemorate the contributions of the Russian artist and writer, Alexander Pushkin.
This event is specifically designed to engage students from schools, colleges, and universities, with the support of BP Oman.
The inaugural ceremony of the event was graced by the presence of Jamal bin Hassan Al Moosawi, the Secretary General of the National Museum, Ilya Morgunov, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Sultanate of Oman, along with a delegation of students and academics.
This event is a manifestation of the cultural collaboration between the Sultanate of Oman and the Russian Federation, with the objective of deepening students' comprehension of global cultures and enriching their knowledge of the history of world literature, thereby expanding their academic and cultural perspectives.
Furthermore, it offers a unique platform for cultural exchange with Russian students, thereby fostering communication and understanding between Omani and Russian cultures.
The event was enriched with live performances of poetic readings and a theatrical production inspired by the works of Alexander Pushkin, featuring students from Chechen State Pedagogical University. Additionally, it showcased a poetic reading from the renowned poem “Eugene Onegin,” celebrated for its blend of narrative poetry and prose storytelling, recognized as one of the most significant works of classic Russian literature.
