MSM Index Ends Lower Marginally

Muscat: The MSX index concluded the day at 4,627.06 points, marking a decrease of 0.63% from its previous close. Conversely, the Sharia Index saw a slight increase, rising by 0.42% to 443.94 points. Among the indices, Aman REIT emerged as the leading performer, achieving a 6.59% increase, while Gulf International Chemicals experienced the highest loss, witnessing a 10% decline.

During the trading session, a total of 765 trades were executed, resulting in a turnover of OMR3.02 million, with over 13.55 million shares being traded. Among the 47 securities traded, 12 saw an increase, 17 experienced a decline, and 18 remained unchanged. Upon the conclusion of the session, domestic investors demonstrated a net buying activity, contributing OMR194,000, while foreign investors showed a net selling activity, contributing OMR186,000. GCC & Arab investors contributed OMR8,000 worth of shares.

The Financial Index concluded the day at 7,523.51 points, marking a decrease of 0.2% from its previous close. Specifically, Bank Nizwa, Oman Arab Bank saw an increase in prices, with a 0.97% and 0.72% rise, respectively. Conversely, OMINVEST, Sohar International Bank, and Bank Muscat saw a decrease in prices, with a 1.77%, 1.46%, and 0.40% decrease, respectively.

The Industrial Index concluded the day at 5,915.97 points, marking a decrease of 0.73% from its previous close. Among the sectors, Oman Cables Industry and Oman Cement saw an increase in prices, with a 0.67% and 0.25% rise, respectively. Conversely, Gulf International Chemicals, Al Maha Ceramics, Galfar Engineering, Oman Flour Mills, and Al Anwar Ceramics saw a decrease in prices, with a 10%, 3.85%, 3.27%, 1.52%, and 0.60% decrease, respectively.

The Services Index concluded the day with a slight decrease of 0.68%, marking a close at 1,805.76 points. Among the sectors, Al Jazeera Services, Al Batinah Power, Renaissance Services, SMN Power Holding, and Oman Education & Training saw an increase in prices, with a 2.38%, 1.39%, 1.35%, 0.93%, and 0.74% rise, respectively. Conversely, Phoenix Power, Barka Desalination, Oman Telecom, National Gas, and Muscat Desalination saw a decrease in prices, with a 8.07%, 4.00%, 3.00%, 1.94%, and 1.37% decrease, respectively.
