Muscat: An earthquake registered at a magnitude of 5. 0 on the Richter scale occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Dhofar Governorate of Oman.
The tremor was detected by the Earthquake Monitoring Center at Sultan Qaboos University, striking at 2:32 PM local time, with its epicenter situated roughly 155 kilometers northeast of Salalah. The quake took place at a depth of 4 kilometers.
According to the Center, the earthquake was noted in the Wilayat of Shaleem and the Hallaniyat Islands, which are part of the Dhofar region.
