Mahas Industrial City Attracts Over OMR41.9 Million Worth Investment

Khasab: The aggregate investment volume within Mahas Industrial City, situated in the Wilayat of Khasab, within the Musandam Governorate, during the initial half of the year 2024, exceeded OMR41.9 million, marking a 2.05 percent increase compared to the same period in the preceding year.

The city's business landscape was significantly enhanced through the localization of projects across various sectors, including electrical industries, warehousing and logistics, engineering and technical services.

Over 90 percent of the infrastructure development projects aimed at constructing roads and establishing foundational infrastructure at Mahas Industrial City were successfully completed, with a total expenditure of nearly OMR5 million.

Mubarak Salim Al Ghailani, the Acting Director General of Mahas Industrial City, highlighted that the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) has initiated another project to establish ten ready-made model factories, each occupying an area of 500 square meters.

This project encompasses a comprehensive suite of services, administrative offices, loading and unloading zones, parking facilities, and green spaces, he elaborated.

Al Ghailani emphasized that "Madayn" places a high priority on initiatives aimed at supporting entrepreneurs, fostering the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and promoting national industries and Omani products. In line with this commitment, numerous business projects and works have been awarded to a variety of contracting, construction, and supply companies within the Musandam Governorate, he noted. He further mentioned that these tasks were awarded by the primary contractor for the road construction and infrastructure development project at Mahas Industrial City.

The aggregate value of these awarded contracts exceeded OMR1.3 million, he observed.

Al Ghailani explained that Mahas Industrial City has led the initiative by issuing 11 tenders to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the governorate.

These tenders covered a broad spectrum of services, including technical services, electrical works, consulting, contracting, supply, shipping, general maintenance, among others.
