'Krishna Will Be Remembered Every Time Swimmers Touch The Water'

Muscat: What was supposed to be another happy Friday workout turned deadly when Krishna Nair, a well-known Indian expatriate and swimming coach in Muscat, drowned. He died after experiencing a serious heart attack while swimming at Kalbouh Park. He was 45 years old.

Friends said he was gone in minutes after they had been swimming with him that morning.

"Every Friday, we swam from Kalbouh Park to the neighboring mountain and back. Krishna always finished first, and last Friday was no exception. But when We turned back, he told us, "You go on, I'll follow. " Unfortunately, he never returned. "

Krishna, who is from Kerala's Ernakulam region, worked as an engineer consultant for a company in Muscat.

However, to many in the neighborhood, he was much more than an engineer; he was a coach, mentor, and inspiration.

As a devoted member of the Alawi Swimming Academy, he taught hundreds of youngsters and adults, giving them both expertise and confidence in the water. He was also a fervent trekking enthusiast who urged people to participate in outdoor recreation.

Colleagues described him as "the heart of the swimming group" and "a captain who led with kindness. "

Alawi Swimming Academy members expressed their grief, stating: "We are heartbroken to learn of the abrupt and unforeseen death of our dear Krishna Nair. Words cannot express our sadness. " "We are devastated by his passing. We pray for his spirit and for the comfort of his family," the statement reads.

Krishna is survived by his wife Swapna, a Kerala government worker, and two children, Raghuram Krishna and Poornima Krishna. He had been living alone in Muscat for professional reasons.

Messages of grief and thanks flooded the community. One read: "Krishna, you will live forever as my first swimming coach. The recollections of Your instructions are still vivid in my memory. "

Another remarked, "It is a very sad and horrible day for the Alawi Swimming Academy. He will be cherished and remembered by everyone. "

And, as one of his friends eloquently put it, "Krishna will be remembered by many people every time they touch water for swimming. "

Arrangements are being made to return his body to Kerala.
