Muscat: Often, it is the smallest elements in our lives that leave the most significant impressions. This could be the sunlight reflecting off a building, a kind gesture from a passerby, the sensation of a pebble beneath our feet on the beach, or even the hue of the room we awaken in each morning. These seemingly minor details in our daily existence are the very things that influence our experiences.
The colors that surround us play a crucial role in shaping our emotions and energy levels, and they do not need to be vibrant or striking to have an effect. With the introduction of the 2025 Global Colour Collection named NUANCES, Jotun highlights the importance of subtle details and color variations that contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere and a sense of belonging.
“While bold colors may provide a more immediate visual effect, even a minor change in shade can significantly alter the ambiance,” explains Rana Khadra, Colour & Creative Manager at Jotun for the Middle East, India, and Africa. “We react to the nuances and tones we encounter daily, both consciously and subconsciously. In our living spaces, it is often these delicate variations that truly matter.”
Launched in October 2024, Jotun’s NUANCES collection comprises 30 colors organized into six categories—blue, gray, peach, yellow, beige, and green—each featuring four variations of differing intensities, all derived from a single base hue. This collection serves as both a reference and a source of inspiration, guiding individuals to discover the ideal subtle distinctions to cultivate their desired atmosphere.
Grounded in established color theory principles, the Global Colour Collection provides both practical advice and creative inspiration on utilizing layering, monochromatic designs, and varying intensities to achieve depth and visual impact.
The collection is beautifully presented through stunning interior photography that showcases all 30 colors in a home environment. Additionally, it includes large-scale artwork created specifically for this launch by French artist Agathe Bergeot, which incorporates many shades from Jotun’s 2025 Color Collection.
The NUANCES Colour Collection debuted in October 2024, accompanied by a series of exhibitions across Jotun’s international markets, including Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and China.
Each exhibition will present a captivating installation featuring large-scale three-dimensional elements such as columns, drapes, and arches that represent the NUANCES color groups. These sculptural and welcoming environments subtly suggest various areas of a home, deconstructed into abstract forms that invite visitors to enter, discover Jotun’s vibrant palette, and recognize the everyday elegance found in simple details.
