Indian Navy's Eastern Fleet Ships Arrive In Singapore As Part Of Deployment To South East Asia

According to an official statement from the Indian Navy, the Indian Naval ships Delhi, Satpura, Shakti, and Kiltan, under the command of RAdm Susheel Menon, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet, arrived in Singapore to a warm welcome from members of the Singapore Navy and the High Commission of India in Singapore.

The journey is a component of the Indian Navy's Operational Deployment to Southeast Asia. The statement stated that this trip is designed to foster the historic friendship and collaboration between the two maritime countries through a variety of interactions and events.

The visit, according to the statement, will include professional interactions with the Singaporean Navy, talks with academics, and community outreach, all of which will demonstrate the shared values between the two countries.

The remark emphasized the strong operational ties between the Indian and Republic of Singapore navies, which have been established over three decades of collaboration, coordination, and cooperation, including frequent visits, the sharing of best practices, and reciprocal training programs. The close relationship between the two navies is highlighted by the current deployment.

Recently, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's visit to Singapore included a number of in-depth high-level discussions, which, according to an official statement released by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Sunday, served to highlight the significance India places on its relationship with the nation.

On July 13, EAM Jaishankar traveled to Singapore. He met with President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, and Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan during the trip.

The leaders discussed the results of the prime minister's visit and the second session of the India Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR), which covered topics like investments, industrial parks, semiconductors, infrastructure, skill development, and connectivity, as stated in the MEA's statement. In addition, they discussed events in ASEAN, the Indo-Pacific region, and throughout the world.

EAM Jaishankar also had a meeting with Teo Chee Hean, who previously served as the Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security and is now the Chairman-designate of Temasek Holdings. They spoke about India's ongoing changes and the possibilities for Temasek to increase its investments there.

In its statement, the MEA emphasized that the trip is a continuation of high-level talks between the two nations and demonstrates the significance India places on its relationship with Singapore.
