Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has today issued four Royal decrees, each with specific mandates and definitions.
Royal Decree No. (51/2024) establishes the National Records Centre and delineates its authority.
Article (1) outlines the establishment of a public administration, designated as “the National Records Centre,” within the framework of the Royal Oman Police's organizational structure.
Article (2) details the scope of the National Records Centre's authority, as defined in the attached annex to this decree.
Article (3) mandates the transfer of all allocations, assets, rights, obligations, and origins of national records from the ElectronicCensus of Population, Housing, and Establishments2020 Project to the National Records Centre.
Article (4) requires the transfer of all employees from the ElectronicCensus of Population, Housing, and Establishments2020 Project to the National Records Centre, including their financial grades.
Article (5) authorizes the Inspector-General of Police and the Customs and Excise Department to promulgate the necessary regulations and decisions for the execution of this decree's provisions.
Article (6) nullifies any provisions that conflict with this decree or violate its terms.
Article (7) declares that this decree will be published in the Official Gazette and will come into effect upon its issuance.
Royal Decree No. (52/2024) enacts the National Records Law.
Article (1) declares that the National Records Law, attached to this decree, will be enforced.
Article 2 delineates that the regulations of the law in question, issued by the Inspector-General of Police and the Customs Hall, will only take effect following the Council of Ministers' approval. In the interim, the existing regulations and decisions will remain in force, notwithstanding the provisions of the aforementioned law.
Article 3 nullifies any provisions that are in conflict with the law or violate its stipulations.
Article 4 mandates the promulgation of this decree in the Official Gazette, with enforcement commencing on the day following its publication.
Royal Decree No. (53/2024) designates a Permanent Representative for the Sultanate of Oman to the United Nations in New York.
Article 1 transfers Omar bin Said bin Omar Al Kathiri, the Sultanate of Oman's Ambassador to Spain, to the role of Oman's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.
Article 2 specifies that this decree is to be published in the Official Gazette and will come into effect on the date of its publication.
Royal Decree No. (54/2024) establishes the appointment of judges to the Supreme Court.
Article 1 specifies that the individuals listed in the attached document will be appointed as judges to the Supreme Court.
Article 2 mandates the publication of this decree in the Official Gazette, with enforcement commencing on the date of its publication.
