His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik landed in Amsterdam on Monday evening, beginning a three-day state visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
When the Royal Aircraft reached Dutch airspace, it was escorted by military aircraft from the Royal Netherlands Air Force as a gesture of welcome to His Majesty the Sultan. Following that, His Majesty's Royal jet arrived at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
His Majesty the Sultan was greeted at the foot of the ramp by Rear Admiral Ludger Brummelaar, Chief of the King's Military House, Reinette Klever, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, various Dutch officials, and representatives of the Omani embassy in the Netherlands.
Following that, His Majesty the Sultan approached the main vehicle, going between two rows of the Netherlands Royal Guard of Honour.
The motorcade of His Majesty the Sultan then departed the airport and headed to his home at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. A motorbike convoy preceded the Royal motorcade.
Tomorrow, King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands will host an official reception for His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik.
