Historic Italian Ship ‘Amerigo Vespucci’ To Grace Muscat’s Shores

Muscat: The renowned Italian Navy training vessel, Amerigo Vespucci, is scheduled to make its first visit to Muscat on January 8, 2025. This occasion marks the 32nd stop on the ship's extensive world tour.

As a representation of Italian craftsmanship, the Amerigo Vespucci is celebrated globally for its grace and historical significance, reflecting the pinnacle of Italian shipbuilding and maritime tradition. This global expedition, which has received strong backing from the Italian Minister of Defense, aims to offer essential training for Officer Cadets while also showcasing Italian excellence on an international stage.

The ship commenced its global journey from Genoa on July 1, 2023, and is projected to continue for about two years. This voyage highlights Italy's rich naval history and its dedication to innovation, science, and technological progress.

The Amerigo Vespucci is expected to dock at berth number 34 of Port Sultan Qaboos at 09:00 on January 8, 2025. The ship will receive a cordial reception from H.E. Pierluigi D’Elia, the Italian Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, along with Admiral Enrico Credendino, Chief of the Italian Navy, and other esteemed representatives from the Omani government and military.
