Muscat: As part of a “state” visit by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to the Republic of Singapore, His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, said: This visit reflects the existing long-standing friendly relations and the level of positive cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Singapore, and that the talks Which took place between His Majesty the Sultan and the Singaporean leadership, focused on intensifying cooperation to achieve the economic goals of the two countries, in order to ensure sustainable prosperity during the twenty-first century.
His Excellency emphasized that these discussions align with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, as the economic progress of the Sultanate of Oman relies on adherence to free trade regulations, backing private sector initiatives, and fostering international collaboration.
His Excellency elucidated that the current phase of cooperation between the two nations focuses on several crucial areas, such as joint efforts in advancing and implementing new technologies, supporting and nurturing startups and small to medium-sized enterprises, establishing smart cities and free zones, enhancing education, facilitating knowledge and technology exchange, promoting healthcare and tourism sectors, among others.
His Excellency underlined that the visit presented a valuable opportunity for both leaderships to deliberate on the prevailing global situation, reaffirm their shared dedication to international cooperation, uphold the principles of international law, and advocate for comprehensive dialogue as a means to resolve international disputes.
Furthermore, the visit marked the commencement of a fresh era of collaboration between the two countries and their people, fostering robust economic and investment development, in addition to diplomatic and cultural ties.
