Muscat: The Diwan of Royal Court has released a statement that reads:
“In light of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik's commitment to ensuring a dignified life for the citizens of Oman and his understanding of their needs, a Royal grant exceeding OMR178 million has been allocated in honor of the 5th anniversary of His Majesty’s Accession Day on January 11. This grant aims to enhance the social and economic welfare of various segments of society, benefiting over 100,000 citizens. The key components of the Royal grant include:
1. An increase in the financial provisions for the Housing Assistance Programme for the year 2025.
2. An expansion of the portfolio for the Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development.
3. The government will cover the outstanding amounts for certain categories of loans, specifically:
(A) Housing loans from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, Oman Housing Bank, and the Ministry of Defence for individuals earning monthly salaries or pensions of RO 400 or less.
(B) Housing loans from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning and Oman Housing Bank for those whose employment in the private sector has been terminated and who earn monthly salaries of RO 400 or less.
(C) Loans associated with stalled or closed projects previously financed by Al Raffd Fund.
(D) A selection of loans for stalled or closed projects financed through the government loan portfolio at the Development Bank.
4. In 2025, the government will enhance social and insurance protections for citizens by continuing the disbursement of social security pensions from the previous year. Relevant government agencies will assess cases that qualify for the family income support benefit within the social protection framework.
5. An additional pension will be provided to retirees whose monthly pensions are below RO 350.
6. Marriage funds will be established across all governorates in the Sultanate of Oman to assist individuals seeking to marry, along with government support in accordance with forthcoming regulations from the relevant authorities.
