Four SMEs Receive Recognition From The International Organization For Standardization

Muscat: Four Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) contracted by Oman Broadband Company have been awarded international recognition by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) for their adherence to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Certification.

This accolade is a culmination of the "Ta'heel" program, overseen by the company, which is dedicated to fostering the growth of small and medium enterprises and promoting entrepreneurship within the Sultanate of Oman.

The four entities that have received the ISO certificate are: “Al-Izdihar Technology Solutions”, “Sahul Naqsi Trading and Contracting Joint Stock Company”, “Reef Telecommunications and Electrical Services Trading”, and “Al-Maqar Trading and Contracting”. Their achievement is a testament to their commitment to international quality standards, focusing on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement, which in turn enhances the efficiency and reliability of their business operations.

The evaluation process was rigorous, encompassing a comprehensive set of criteria that included leadership, risk management, document management, operations, auditing, and performance.

CEO of Oman Broadband Company, Eng. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Wahaibi, emphasized that the "Ta'heel" program is part of a broader series of initiatives aimed at supporting entrepreneurship, underscoring the company's belief in the pivotal role of businesses in achieving social responsibility. He noted that the ISO 9001:2015 certification will not only improve the operational efficiency of these companies but also enhance their market reputation and stimulate the business environment by aligning their operations with international standards and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and productivity enhancement.

General Manager of Corporate Performance at the company, Eng. Moatasem bin Abdulnabi Al Balushi, elaborated on the "Ta'heel" initiative's focus on supporting small and medium enterprises. He highlighted the program's alignment with the directives of the Oman Investment Authority, which emphasize the need to enhance local added value programs represented by the "Qimam Program." Furthermore, he stressed the importance of empowering entrepreneurs and developing national competencies and products to meet international standards. This cooperation is designed to boost the competitiveness of local products and services, both locally and internationally, in support of Oman Vision 2040's goal of building a diversified and sustainable economy.
