Idaho: The 15th edition of Exercise Vajra Prahar commenced at the Orchid Combat Training Centre in Idaho, United States, on Monday, as announced by the Additional Director General of Public Information for the Army.
This exercise is designed to focus on the enhancement of interoperability and the exchange of best practices among the Special Forces units from both nations, marking a significant milestone in the military cooperation between the Indian and United States Armies.
On social media platform X, the Additional Director General of Public Information shared that during the ceremony, military contingents had the opportunity to introduce themselves and share insights into their respective cultures, thereby fostering friendship and mutual respect.
The event was further enriched by the celebration of Deepawali, during which the Indian contingent exchanged sweets with their American counterparts, symbolizing the spirit of the festival.
"The inaugural ceremony of the 15th edition of Exercise Vajra Prahar 2024 took place at the Orchid Combat Training Centre in Idaho, USA. During the ceremony, contingents had the chance to introduce themselves, share cultural insights, and receive briefings on the conduct of the exercise. In the spirit of Deepawali, the Indian contingent engaged in the exchange of sweets with their American counterparts to celebrate the festival together. Vajra Prahar is aimed at fostering military cooperation, enhancing interoperability, and facilitating the exchange of best practices between the Special Forces units of the Indian Army and the United States Army," the Additional Director General of Public Information stated on X.

Exercise Vajra Prahar is a collaborative exercise involving Special Forces units from India and the United States. Scheduled to take place from November 2 to November 22, 2024, this edition marks the second exercise of the year between the two nations, following the successful conclusion of the previous edition at Umroi, Meghalaya, in December 2023.
This year's edition will see both contingents, each comprising 45 personnel, participate in the joint exercise. The Indian Army contingent will be represented by Special Forces units, while the American contingent will be led by the Green Berets of the United States Army.
The primary objectives of this exercise are to promote military cooperation between India and the United States, enhance interoperability and jointness, and facilitate the exchange of special operations tactics. Additionally, it aims to improve combined capabilities in executing joint Special Forces operations within a desert/semi-desert environment.
