MUSCAT: The spectacle of Indian and Pakistani cricketers competing for supremacy is among the most eagerly anticipated events in the realm of sports. Whether it be a contest in the U-19 Asia Cup or the World Cup, cricket enthusiasts worldwide eagerly anticipate the intense rivalry between these cricketing titans and their arch-rivals.
Oman is poised to host the Asian Cricket Council [ACC] Emerging Teams Asia Cup, which will see India and Pakistan among eight teams battle for the championship at the Oman Cricket Academy ground in Al Amerat. The tournament is scheduled to take place from October 16 to 27.
Sources reveal that the eight-team competition will include teams from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and three teams that have qualified from the 2024 ACC Men's Premier Cup.
The host nation, Oman, along with the UAE and Hong Kong national teams, have emerged victorious from the Premier Cup, which was held in Oman in April. The UAE emerged as the champions, securing a spot in the 2025 Asia Cup and the Emerging Teams Asia Cup. The runner-up, Oman, and the third-placed team, Hong Kong, were awarded berths in the Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
