New Delhi: According to sources, Elon Musk's satellite internet service Starlink is planning to launch operations in India in the next two months, after receiving clearance last week.
The business has finished its pricing plan for the Indian market, pricing the necessary satellite dish gadget at roughly Rs 33,000. The monthly limitless data package is projected to cost Rs 3,000.
As part of its launch strategy, Starlink intends to provide a free onemonth trial period with each device purchase, allowing consumers to evaluate the service before committing to regular monthly payments.
The satellite internet connection is anticipated to have a substantial influence on connection in India's distant and underserved regions, where traditional broadband infrastructure has been difficult to deploy. Starlink's low Earth orbit satellite network aims to provide high-speed internet connectivity to regions that conventional terrestrial networks cannot reach.
The price structure matches Starlink's regional plan, with device prices comparable to those of neighboring countries. In Bangladesh, the Starlink gadget costs Rs 33,000, whereas Bhutan charges the same price.
According to industry experts, Starlink's arrival into the Indian market may heighten competition in the country's telecommunications industry while also delivering vital connectivity solutions for rural communities, educational institutions, and enterprises located in remote locations.
The company's impending debut comes as India continues to push for digital inclusion and increased internet connection across its huge geographical area, notably in regions where traditional internet service providers have failed to build strong networks.
