Muscat: The aviation sector plays a pivotal role in the economic and social advancement of the Sultanate of Oman. It significantly contributes to the enhancement of travel, tourism, and trade, thereby improving connectivity with the global community.
The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has sanctioned a comprehensive policy aimed at bolstering safety and security measures, promoting environmentally sustainable practices, and keeping abreast of the swift global transformations occurring within this domain.
The CAA is actively pursuing initiatives to bolster the sector's infrastructure, attract investments, and enhance the efficiency of its services.
The overarching vision of the CAA in Oman is centered on broadening the sector's capabilities and fostering sustainable development.
This general policy also aims to establish a detailed framework that outlines the government's strategy and provides a roadmap for the formulation of a National Aviation Strategy that aligns with Oman Vision 2040 and other national strategies.
The policy on aviation encompasses seven primary areas: "Aviation Safety and Security," "Air Transport," "Infrastructure Development," "Economic Regulation," "Passenger Rights Protection," "Protection of the Omani Airspace," and "Environmental Conservation."
