Prof. Rashid bin Hamad Al Balushi, Chairperson of the Oman Human Rights Commission, met with a delegation from the British Inter-Parliamentary Union during their official visit to Oman.
The delegation was briefed on the functions of the Oman Human Rights Commission, including its monitoring of international reports, verification of information, and collaboration with relevant authorities to address human rights issues. They also discussed the Commission's efforts in promoting and safeguarding human rights.
The British parliamentary delegation noted similarities between the work of the OHRC and the Equality and Human Rights Commission in the UK, both dedicated to upholding human rights. They expressed their willingness to collaborate with the OHRC on various human rights-related matters.
