Brunei Minister Visits Muscat Book Fair

Muscat— Today, Yang Berhormat Pehin Dato Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, who serves as a Minister at the Prime Minister's Office of Brunei Darussalam, made a visit to the 29th Muscat International Book Fair during his ongoing trip to the Sultanate of Oman.

Throughout the visit, the distinguished guest and his delegation received an overview of the exhibits showcased at the pavilion representing North A’Sharqiyah Governorate, which is the honored guest of the fair. This pavilion highlights the distinctive culture, history, notable individuals, scientific and humanitarian progress, as well as tourist attractions of the governorate.

In addition, the esteemed visitor explored the pavilion of the Ministry of Information, which is divided into four sections that represent the Oman News Agency, the Directorate General of Digital Media (including the Ayn Platform and Media Portal), the Directorate General of Publications and Artistic Works, and the Directorate General of External Media (Media Center). This area also includes the newly introduced "Ayn for Kids" platform, dedicated to providing media content tailored for children.

Furthermore, he toured the pavilion of Brunei Darussalam set up at the fair, along with the "Arts Hall," which has been organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth, showcasing a variety of artistic expressions such as visual arts, photography, music, and theater.

Additionally, the visitor examined the fair's wide-ranging pavilions that host an extensive array of cultural, scholarly, and scientific works. Overall, the event boasts an impressive total of 681,041 titles, comprising 467,413 Arabic publications and 213,610 international works.
