Asyad Drydock Showcases Integrated Capabilities At Posidonia

Asyad Drydock, a member of the Asyad Group, recently participated in the Posidonia International Shipping Exhibition in Athens, Greece. This renowned event attracts numerous exhibitors and visitors from around the world. Over the course of five days, Asyad Drydock showcased its exceptional facilities and competitive solutions. The company's comprehensive approach includes ship building, maintenance, and conversion services, covering various aspects such as engineering, electrical work, propulsion, fitting, blasting, painting, procurement, testing, trials, and class surveys for all types of vessels. 

The CEO of Asyad Shipping & Drydock, Dr Ibrahim al Nadhairi, emphasized that their participation aligns with Asyad's strategy to solidify its position as a leading global integrated solutions provider in the maritime industry. They aim to expand their presence in international markets by attracting new customers and potential investors. Additionally, participating in this event allows them to engage with industry giants, learn from their expertise, exchange knowledge, and share their own experiences to contribute to the sector's advancement. Al Nadhairi also highlighted the competitive advantage of integrating drydock services in Duqm, which reduces deviation time. Currently, the company has its sights set on the European markets, particularly Greece, which accounts for 30% of Asyad Drydock's customer base.

Dr. Abdulsalam al Rabaani, the Chief Commercial Officer of Asyad Drydock, expressed his enthusiasm for establishing new strategic partnerships and alliances at Posidonia. Their goal is to increase the market share of the drydock in Duqm by attracting more customers from Europe. These customers can benefit from their advanced maintenance and conversion services for vessels of all types and sizes. In 2023, they were able to secure 230 contracts from over 40 countries, which marked a 4% growth compared to the previous year. They are confident in achieving even greater results in the future.

The dry dock complex in Duqm spans across 1.2 million square meters and serves as the entryway to the Arabian Sea. It is the second largest dry dock in the Middle East and North Africa region, making it a prominent destination for vessels of all sizes. The complex consists of two docks, with the first measuring 410 meters in length and 95 meters in width, and the second measuring 410 meters in length and 80 meters in width. Additionally, there is a floating dock measuring 200 meters in length and 36.4 meters in width. This floating dock provides ship repair and conversion services, as well as the construction of specialized ships for various purposes, including cargo transportation, vehicle transport, equipment transport, modern fishing vessels, and marine research vessels.
